BreakDown in Hillsboro

I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that the BreakDown team performed this past Thursday at the Roughrider Health Promotion Conference in Medora. They gave three presentations in one day, so they worked hard.

They were absolutely THE hit of the conference. Everyone was talking about it, and I know that we are going to be getting bombarded with requests not only for presentations, but also for the purposes of building teams elsewhere in the state. Because of all the buzz going around at the conference, the audience at the third performance was at least double what was originally intended. People were canceling out of other workshops to come attend ours.

One more day

One more day of school. One more day of fun. One more day to see every one in one place. I stand at the foot of the stairs and see my friends smiling and laughing. Don't they understand that in one day every one will go away?! They hold there hand out for me to join. I guess for one more day, we can pretend that nothing will change. For one more day we will be together friends forever. If only for one more day.

Photos!

One important thing: Please send me some good digital photos of your events, okay? We will be doing a lot more work on our powerful new www.nlsadd.com web site this summer, and we would like to provide links to photos of the various events across the Tri-State area. (By the way, if you haven’t registered yourself as a web site user yet, please do so. Once we get all of the functionality of the web site installed, get all of the chapters added, and get other info up, we intend the web site to become something that all of you will use – even as an effective way of communicating with your own student members.)

SADD Redhawks Game

I wanted you to have some information before school is out. Sure would love to see you all at the ballpark on Sunday, July 22nd for the 1pm game. Right now the tickets are $6 for 3rd Base Deluxe Reserved Seats, ($8 day of the game). Please send me your order, (see attachment) by July 3rd as I have to purchase the tickets by July 6th. Be sure to let me know if you are interested in a Tailgate Party before the game, 11:30am - 12:30pm.

Traffic Safety Video & Lesson

Hi, everyone –

At the state conference, a lot of you were able to see the powerful “tk cr b4 2 l8” (Take Care Before it’s Too Late) video. The Department of Transportation has finally signed off on both the video and the associated Transitions lesson. The lesson is attached, and we will begin sending copies of the video to all of our active chapters tomorrow. Remember that this lesson is specifically designed for 8th grade pre-drivers, and is intended to be facilitated by high school SADD students. It comes with a simple one-page pre and post test which is very important.
